Funny. I had just finished a 25 mile mountain bike ride with friends to celebrate the New Year.

Hi Dave,
I followed the link from Eastcoasters Bike Shop to get here. It sounds like you are the guy to ask the following:
I will be attending a Softball Tourney at Starkey Park on 3/20-3/23 & would like get a couple MTB rides in.
Thru your website it looks like Carvin's Cove, Dragon's Back & Outback Park are close by.
I'm relatively new to MTB riding, 18 months. All riding done in West Michigan. I am 49 with advanced/beginner skills & fitness level. I have been in two short races, 12 & 8 miles on intermediate level (for Michigan) single track trails. Finished in the middle of the pack.
Could you give me any recommendations for the trails listed above.
I'll be riding alone unless your can connect me with a guide.
I would hate to miss riding the backcountry & climbing real mountains while I'm visiting!
Thanx for your help!
Steve Cole
Hey Steve - I'm not Dave but am piping in anyway. Post to the google group ROAR100 and you might find a local or 2 happy to go out for a ride with you.
What is that saying about what you do on New Year's Day? ...you'll be doing that same thing all year long. - not a bad way to set the tone for 2008!
